privately held publishing company headquartered in New Delhi, India. Since its inception
in 1974, it has grown tremendously as one of the leading publishers of Engineering,
Computers, College, School (CBSE Board) and Children books in India. It has following
three units/imprints through which it caters to different niches of educational and
professional books market.
- Laxmi Publications Pvt. Ltd: Secondary and Senior Secondary CBSE Schools, College
Mathematics and Engineering.
- Firewall Media: Computer Books for the educational and professional market.
- Golden Bells: Books for competitive examinations like IIT JEE, CBSE PMT and
others and pre-primary, primary and middle school books.
- New Age International: Engineering, Medical, Management Books.
Network and Distribution
Having sold more than 25 million books to more than 10 million
students, Laxmi Publications has helped in shaping the future of many meritorious
students. With sales offices all over the country, we have a strong distribution network.
Our head office is in New Delhi and branch offices in Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Guwahati,
Hyderabad, Jalandhar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Ranchi. Our resident representatives
are stationed at Bhopal, Varanasi, Lucknow, Patna, Nagpur, Dehradun, Chandigarh, Srinagar, Gorakhpur, Kota, Siliguri and
Bhubaneshwar. Our strong sales team of around 120 is always on the move, travelling to the
remotest corners of India to expand our name and business.
Acquisitions
In September, 2003, Laxmi Publications Pvt. Ltd. took over another
publishing company "New Age International Pvt. Ltd". With this acquisition,
Laxmi Publications also got more than 1000 titles in higher education-Engineering,
Mathematics, Computer Science, Agriculture, Medicine, Biotechnology, and others,
additional branch offices at Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow and Guwahati.
Range of Educational Publications
Laxmi Publications has one of the largest title lists in Central
Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) school books publications.
We publish books in all subjects for classes IX to XII for the CBSE boards. Many of these
books are recommended by CBSE as text. Our brands are famous under the names of
Comprehensive, Stay Ahead etc. Besides, our Golden Guides from class VI to XII are widely
known. Famous authors from renowned universities all over India have authored these books.
Our catalogue has the complete listing of all the titles we publish.
Under our Golden Bells Imprints, we publish Children
books for pre-primary, primary and classes upto VIII. Within two years, we have
produced around 50 titles in this segment.
We are pioneers and industry leaders in College Mathematics
books for various universities. Starting July 2003 we have also launched new
books on Physics, Chemistry and other subjects based on latest UGC syllabus and customized
on the basis of various state universities.
Laxmi Publications has also established a strong foothold in publishing
engineering textbooks. Many of our publications are regularly recommended
in the AICTE periodicals. We cover a wide variety of topics in Mechanical, Civil,
Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Chemical, Computer Science and Information
Technology.
Books like Fluid Mechanics by Dr.R.K. Bansal, SMTS, Soil Mechanics by
Dr.B.C. Punmia, Thermal Engineering and Electrical Machines by Er.R.K. Rajput are bibles
for engineering students in india. The average print run for these books is 11,000 copies
with 2-3 runs a year. The editorial and production units are located in the Head Office in
New Delhi. The organization publishes roughly 100 new titles/editions each year. Titles
are taken up for publication only after their contents have been evaluated by a panel of
editorial and subject experts. The organization emphasizes quality norms in terms of both
editorial content and physical inputs like paper, printing and binding. The focus of the
company is on providing authentic, reliable and user friendly books at an affordable
price.
Committed to grow in the education business, we have also published a
new series for Competitive Examinations-objective type series for
engineering and medical entrance examinations, covering all subjects.
Past, Present and Future
The years 2004 and 2005 have been brought tremendous growth and
opportunities for Laxmi Publications. We took aggressive steps to increase our brand
awareness, diversify our portfolio and further grow the business.

September 2001. We launched Firewall Media, an imprint of
Laxmi Publications, to cater to the developers and software professional market. Within
five years of its inception, we have published more than 60 titles of our own and gotten
Indian edition reprint rights for at least 80 foreign titles from the US and Europe.

August 2001. We launched Golden Bells. As the name suggests,
this imprint of Laxmi Publications has been started to get the attention of
students right from the beginning. As of yet we have brought out 50 + titles for the
pre-school segment. We plan to grow our listing and enter the primary school segment as
well.

June 2002. We launched a complete new series for the newly created state of
Jharkhand in India. Moving at a rapid pace, we opened a new branch office and published
more than 100 new titles within two months for the State Board of Education.

September 2003. Acquired New Age International and added more than 1000 titles
in higher education and four more branches.

Thus, in short span of time, Laxmi Publications has grown multi-folds.
From pre-school to engineering, we cover almost all areas of Indian education system. We
